Q What are the System Requirements for using AuctionMaestro Pro?

A

  • Operating System: Windows 2000 SP3+, Windows XP SP2, VISTA SP1,
    Windows 7
  • PC with 233 MHz or higher processor clock speed
  • 120MB free hard disk space
  • 64 MB of RAM, 128 MB or more recommended for optimal performance

Q AuctionMaestro Pro may stop responding when connecting to .AUC and .PEO databases stored on a Microsoft Vista Computer
Symptoms

  • My .AUC and .PEO database files are being hosted (stored) on a computer running the Microsoft Vista Operating System.
  • I am able to have one computer connect to the databases without a problem.
  • I am unable to connect to the databases with any other Microsoft Vista computers.
  • Note 1: If the 2nd computer is already connected to the databases and is then 2nd+ computer to open AMPro, then the computer will hang on the AMPro startup screen.
  • Note 2: If the 2nd computer needs to select the new databases [1,1] then AMPro will hang while attempting to select these databases.

A This issue is caused by a bug in the Microsoft Vista Operating System. (See Microsoft KB article 935366.)

Q When I load AuctionMaestro Pro, I get the following error, “Error Attaching to Selected Database – Item not found in this collection.”

A1 AuctionMaestro Pro can not find the last Auction file (.auc) or the last People file (.PEO) that you were using. It may have been moved, renamed, or deleted. You will need to select valid .AUC and .PEO files before you will be allowed to continue.

A2 If you are using database files that are located on a Network drive, check to make sure you have access to that drive.

Q When I load AuctionMaestro Pro I get the following error, “The Jet Database can not find tblPeopleEntry” or a similar error message?

A Click OK till you get to you Main Screen and then re-select your databases.

Q When I print out a Tracking Report from the Multiple Item View Screen [5,3], not all of my Donors are appearing.

A Press the Update All Donors to Single Line Display button.

Q Why can’t I enter a person into the Solicitor Representative field?

A The Solicitor Representative field is a drop-down list of all of the people in your database who are either marked as Members or who have been defined as Solicitors under the Classify Filter Section.

Q I want to select a Solicitor Representative for my item. How come all of my people are not showing up?

A Ensure that you have entered your Solicitor into the People Info Entry Screen [3,1]. Then mark them as a Member, or selected as Solicitor under the Classify Filters Section

Q I’m trying to print Thank You Letters from the Enter Donor Tab. Why can’t I choose the right letter or change the Thank You Sent field?

A In order to make any modifications to this section you must be in Edit Mode. To switch from Browse Mode to Edit Mode select the Edit Donor button.

Q I am trying to Print Preview my Catalogs but it is coming up blank with the words #Error.

A Before you can Print your catalog, you must assign Auction Types and Item Numbers to your Items in the Multiple Item View screen.

Q In my Table & Banquet Setup Screen [4,1] I do not have any Caterers in the list. How do I enter them?

A You must enter the Caterer in the People Info Entry Screen. Then mark them as a Caterer in the Classify Filters Section.

Q How can I modify the Items in my User Lists (Item Category, Recognition Levels, etc …)

A1 In most cases you can simply double-click the white box and it will bring up a modifiable user list. If you edit this list, you may need to exit the screen you are working on and come back in.

A2 From the Main Screen, choose Modify User Definable Lists [9] and then choose the list to modify.

Q Where can I find a Sample Procurement Form?

A Under General Reports [7,1], Select the Report Category, Procurement Forms. There are four samples to choose from.

Q I have duplicate people in my database. How do I find them?

A From the Main Screen, choose Audit Your Event [8,1]. In here is a list of handy utilities that allow you to find inconsistencies in you data. Select the tab Look for Duplicate People and there you go.

Q I am in the Item Entry Screen [5,2] and want to print a Donor Thank You letter. However everytime I try to change the letter type, nothing happens.

A The reason is because you are in Browse Mode. If you left click the Edit Donor button (and then press yes) you will be switched to Edit Mode.

Q I am printing letters and I have Letterhead paper that goes down the left side. When I change the margins it cuts off part of my letter.

A Use the – Narrow version of the Template and this will give you a 2” margin on the left side.

Q I am trying to select a Vendor (or a Caterer) and no one is appearing in the list. Why not?

A You must first enter the Person/Company into your database (in Enter People/Company names) and then mark them as a Vendor (or a Caterer) under Classify Primary Filters.

Q I have set-up a network and when I try to select my .AUC file it tells me that my USER.DAT file is corrupt.

A One or all of your computers has not been updated with the Network Upgrade code. To check this, look in the bottom right hand corner. It should say Unlimited User License. If it says 2 User Licence then you need to upgrade.
